On Monday, 01 June 2009, the St. Croix Composite Squadron Commander, Capt. David Yost was notified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that he has achieved his Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) rating to his current list of pilot skills. Capt. Yost has been a member of the St. Croix Composite Squadron and a member of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) since January 2004. He became a CAP airplane instructor back in November 2007. He also has been serving as our Squadron Commander since August 2008. In addition to his pilot ratings, Capt. Yost is also a qualified mission pilot, observer, scanner, flight line marshaller, ground team 3 member, skills evaluator and holds technician ratings in both safety and operations. Capt. Yost is indeed a valuable member of the Minnesota Wing, Civil Air Patrol who is always willing to volunteer for every event and mission, which comes our way. I have included an email that was sent out by the Minnesota Wing, Stan/Eval Officer, Maj. Alan Matson. Members of Minnesota Wing, Today, one of our CAP Instructor Pilots earned the additional certification known as CFII. This Certified Flight Instructor Instrument rating will allow our instructor (and CAP Check Pilot) to train and check our pilots in the valuable skill of instrument flying. Please join me in congratulating Capt. David Yost, Commander of St. Croix Squadron, for accomplishing the CFII certification, and in thanking him for enhancing his skill and certification level that is so much needed in our organization. Great work Capt. Yost! Congratulations to Capt. David Yost for his accomplishments and for his dedication and contributions to the Civil Air Patrol. Story submitted by: |
